Petition of the Citizens of Snyder Township for Incorporation of
“The Wild Wood Cemetery”

The petition of the subscribers, citizens of Brockwayville, and vicinity, that they have purchased a piece or parcel of land situate in Snyder Township near the village of Brockwayville for burial purposes, and have formed an association for the purpose of controlling the same and therefore we pray your Honorable Court to Grant us an Act of Incorporation and as in duty bound will ever pray.

For purpose of purchasing and improving grounds for a Cemetery near the village of Brockwayville in Jefferson County so that burial can be made in the grounds and so that the same can be held in perpetuity by the Corporation or lot owners for burial purposes.

The spot selected for the purpose lies and is situated on the West side of South Run “embracing Spurs of hills adjoining to and contain from ten to fifteen acres being distant about, one half mile from the present Methodist Church building in Brockwayville and to be known by the name, style and title of “The Wild Wood Cemetery.”

All subscription are made for the purpose of purchasing improving and embellishing and preserving grounds to be used as a public burying ground and for no other purpose.

$25.00 for one lot. One lot containing 300 superficial square feet, with a margin of 1 foot around the same for wall or fence.

6 trustees serving term of one year, 2 trustees serving term of 2 years, and 2 trustees serving term of 3 years.
